🚌 By Bus
TSRTC runs direct Jatara special buses from Karimnagar bus station during the festival period.
During Jatara: Direct buses from Karimnagar TSRTC Bus Station to Medaram. Limited frequency — check departure times at the counter.
Alternative (year-round): Bus to Warangal (every 30 min, ₹80–120, 1.5 hrs), then Warangal to Medaram via Mulugu.
Group travel: Many Karimnagar pilgrims form groups and hire shared minibuses — more affordable and convenient than individual transport.
🚗 By Car / Cab
Most convenient option — drive through Warangal and continue to the forest route.
Route: Karimnagar → Huzurabad → Warangal Bypass → Narsampet → Mulugu → Tadvai → Medaram
Road condition: Excellent 4-lane NH until Warangal. Good 2-lane from Warangal to Mulugu. Last 30 km is narrow forest road.
Fuel: Multiple fuel stations along NH. Last reliable pump at Mulugu — fill up before entering the forest.
Tolls: 1 toll plaza en route (~₹100)
🚂 By Train + Bus
Step 1: Train from Karimnagar (station code: KMNR) to Warangal Junction (WL). Limited direct trains — check schedule. Alternatively, bus to Warangal is faster.
Step 2: From Warangal, TSRTC special buses run directly to Medaram during Jatara (90 km, ~2.5 hrs).

Warangal (~60 km from Karimnagar)
Better hotel range and closer to Medaram. Haritha Hotel (TSTDC), Hotel Ratna. Recommended if doing a day trip.
Medaram (at site)
Government temporary shelters during Jatara only. Very basic — carry sleeping gear, mats, and extra clothing.
- Start by 3–4 AM from Karimnagar to reach Medaram by early morning.
- Group minibus hire is popular among Karimnagar families — costs ₹8,000–12,000 for a 20-seater, split among the group.
- Carry water, snacks, and prasad items (jaggery for Bangaram offering) from Karimnagar — prices spike near Medaram.
- If driving, bypass Warangal city using the ring road to save 30–45 minutes.
- Many Karimnagar devotees visit the Sammakka Saralamma Temple in Warangal on the return trip.
